Estrogen levels are a predictor of Bone Mineral Density in both aging men and post-menopausal women.  Age-related bone loss may be the result of Estrogen deficiency not just in postmenopausal women, but also in men. In conclusion: in aging men, estrogen is the dominant sex steroid regulating bone resorption.
